Latest Commissions

It's a good time for art production right now. In addition to being in the middle of work for an upcoming art show I'm also squeezing in a few painting commissions here and there, like this beauty to the left, a slightly larger alternate version of my first "We Know What You Are Always Thinking" painting from my "We Are Modern" series. Instead of on wood, this version is on canvas, and measures 28" x 58". The image of Paul Newman and Liz Taylor is also slightly different than that of the original, as well. Below are a few detail shots of the finished work. I wish I could enjoy this one a little while longer, though. It'll be shipping off to a new collector in Nashville early next week.

Also, I finished up another rock n' roll portrait for a longtime collector here in Dallas, this time of a one Don Henley (of The Eagles fame if you have no idea who I'm talking about.) Rumor has it that Mr. Henley frequents my collector's restaurant, so I'm hoping he'll pop in soon and see his portrait hanging in the bar with the rest of some awesome rock royalty.

I'm really happy with how this turned out, even though most of my painting style has moved away from this look. I figured I'd keep in line with the on-going style of the rest of my collector's pieces, though. However, it does feel good to do some hand painting and take a break from the physicality of silk screen printing.

Speaking of paintings, I'll be posting a preview of the upcoming "Cowboy Movie" exhibit the week before its opening. But, before that happens I better get my ass in gear and finish the art for the show. Dude...I need some assistants.
