Records Make The World Go Round...

Over the years I've made it quite evident just how important music plays a role in my work and in my life. With each passing year the passion grows and grows, almost to the point where it's the only thing I care to talk about. I've only met one or two other people in my life who understand this fact, where food will be passed over for the chance at owning a new record that will last longer than the owner.

Since late September 2010, I've been doing my best to maintain my side blog project called "Classic Waxxx", a feudal attempt at shining some light on numerous fantastic vinyl records folks may or may not know about; the records I love to death and the ones I get to experience for the very first time. Posts have been a bit sporadic as of late, mostly because of the dedication to my art. However, I try to keep a balance between my two loves.

Summer is right around the corner, and as I drink my cold beer and soda pop in the dead of the daytime Texas heat, I think over some new material to cover for future music posts. I've been considering some of the greatest Summertime-themed rock tunes that have graced the public's ears and have started compiling that list of the songs that are infectiously great, the songs that will stay stuck in my head for days on end. The list has a ways to go, but as my mind gets jogged I look forward to sharing that list soon. There is also a special giveaway I'm planning for that review, so be sure to 'like' the Classic Waxxx facebook page to keep up with latest news, reviews, updates, promotions and contests.

"Classic Waxxx" is shaping up to be a real labor of love when I have the time to dedicate to it. My goal is to have it be so much more than a music review site, or a guide to 'must have vinyl' for those who are new to the vinyl experience. In the future I'd like to see Classic Waxxx become a music education resource, a record label, a record store, and a monument to a music format that has been around for over 100 years. It's great to see more young adults and kids be turned onto vinyl in this digital age. I'd like to see that continue in any way, shape or form I can contribute.

Music has been the greatest gift I've ever been able to receive in my young life, and with Classic Waxxx I hope to pass on some of those blessings and perhaps turn a few people on to some music in the way it was meant to be heard.

As for the music reviews/mini history lessons themselves new Classic Waxxx reviews are usually posted every Tuesday (the day new music is typically released in the USA). I hope you will follow along on this 'hot dusty road' with me. It's been a gas so far...
