New Print: The Amazing X-Ray!

It's been quiet lately in the studio the last few weeks, as I've been taking it easy and enjoying a much needed mental and physical break. But, all that has changes since the start of this week, and I've been working it in high gear.

Was hoping to release this latest print last week, but as I was still needing a few extra days of R&R, it obviously didn't get printed. I managed to get the entire four color print completed today, and is now officially available for your consumption.

I'm hoping this will be the first in many new prints that will be released soon. I've been making plans over the last few days to crank the non-painting production up a notch or two, as I'd like to explore all that I'm physically capable of doing with the screen printing end of the studio's operations. This will also include (finally) revamping the clothing line that has been on a bit of a hiatus, as well as working on a few other choice projects that I'm excited to start.

Detail of colors one and two.
But enough about that, included here are a few process pics from today's print job I'd thought I'd share. I always find it interesting to see the makings of any silk screened print, whether it is mine or someone else's.

"The Amazing X-Ray!" is a four colored hand pulled print on Finch bright white 100lb cover stock, measuring 14" x 20.5" over all. Each print is signed, numbered and stamped on the back with the studio seal o' approval, and is limited to only 35 copies. I like to keep my numbers low unless for a commissioned gig poster.

Detail with color three.
I really enjoyed working on this print. It's one that has been in the queue for several weeks now, as well as a few other print ideas floating around in my head. And after combing through my print archives it looks as though I'm starting to build up a bit of a back stock, which will come in handy closer to the holidays. Etsy Dallas' "Jingle Bash" is happening in November, and I'm hoping to be a chosen vendor for the event. However, I better get cracking on all these projects this summer if I'm going to be ready. Of course, that is on top of two new art exhibits I'm committed to, as well. Worried? Me? Not on your life...

Some of the elements in this latest print look interesting enough to do another run without the black ink on top. And coincidentally, the red and black separations look great on their own, so this print may spin-off a few other variations.

If you dig the print as is, it is now available in my studio's Etsy shop for a mere 25 smackers. All of my prints are made with severe amounts of love and care, so should you want to acquire this, or any of my other prints or original works, you shall not be disappointed!

Well, time to clean up the studio before calling it a day. Look for more hand printed goodies to hit the Napkin Art Studios Etsy shop really really soon. I'm getting in the creative groove again, so I don't want to stop this momentum of productivity.

Rock n' Roll, everyone!
