With all of the "We Are Modern" show stuff going on over the last few months, I almost forgot to mention there is a new gallery in the country to find my work in.
Should you happen to find yourself in New York be sure to check out Cherry Branch Gallery in Cherry Valley, NY, between Syracuse and Albany, Northeast of Cooperstown. It's a hip little gallery space that features a variety of contemporary artists, both local and national. The work ranges from photography to sculpture, original paintings, drawings and prints. It's one of those quaint galleries that you can definitely find something to suit everyone's art tastes.
I hope to make a trip upstate soon to meet gallery director, Kristen Henderson, in person, as it sometimes feels weird to only deal with art galleries via online. (That reminds me...I also need to plan a trip to Chicago to meet with Pop Chicago Gallery owner Michel Balasis. )
At Cherry Branch Gallery you'll find some of my small celebrity portraits, like the "Glimmer Twins" (aka Mick & Keith), 'Marilyn Monroe' and of course, my 'Liz Taylor' paintings...which I will state for the record were completed BEFORE her untimely passing in March. I'm currently working on some larger pieces for the gallery, now that "We Are Modern" has officially opened.
I look forward to doing some great business with the gallery, and hopefully inch my way East into the NYC art market in the near future. I've been told my work suits the gallery and market very well in Cherry Valley. Let's hope that will also translate into some great art sales!
In addition to NY art galleries, I'm also looking into other art markets on the East and West Coast, as well as really exploring what the Dallas art market has in store. There seems to be some great potential for a growing art career in Dallas, and it's exciting to wonder just how far I can take this train, and see what gets picked up along the way.
